Education Coordinator

Mumbai Mobile Creches is a non-profit organisation that has supported the health, safety and education of children living on construction sites for the last four decades.  It runs comprehensive day care centres on construction sites, serving children who are among the most vulnerable of the urban poor. It has been a pioneer in developing early childhood education programmes and curricula. In Mumbai, it serves over 4500 children through approximately 25 centres every year.

Mumbai Mobile Creches is seeking an experienced person for the position of Education Coordinator, for effectively carrying out the functions of teaching programme and meet the programme and donor’s requirements. The Education Coordinator will be responsible for the following.

Job Description

  1. Overall implementation and coordination of the education programme.
  2. Assign duties, design and check work plans of education officer.
  3. Undertake regular visits to all the MMC centers to ensure the smooth implementation of the education programme.
  4. Effectively implement, monitor, and evaluate the Afterschool, Pre-primary and Crèche education programmes.
  5. Monitor teaching programme and develop MIS to monitor teaching and children performance indicators and system in consultation with Programme Manager
  6. Documentation of monthly, quarterly and half yearly donor, reports, including both narrative and financial reports.
  7. Develop, improve and monitor monthly timetable for the 0-3 year olds and the 3-6 years old children.
  8. Implement various new tools and activities to enhance visibility of education programme.
  9. Identify and prioritize materials and equipment needed for the education programme in coordination with the HR & Administration Manager and CEO.
  10. Maintain partnerships and relationships with other NGOs, schools, institutions etc. who could add value to the programme.

Qualification

  • A Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education / Human Development
  • With 5 years’ experience in Early Childhood Care and Education is essential.
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Fluency in English, Hindi and Marathi are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS word is essential.

The Mumbai Mobile Creches’ administrative office is in South Mumbai. Working hours are 8:45 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month is a holiday.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Finance Manager

Mumbai Mobile Creches (MMC) is a non-profit organisation that has attempted to ensure the health, safety and education of children living on construction sites for the last four decades.  It runs comprehensive day care centres on construction sites, for children who are among the most vulnerable of the urban poor. MMC has been a pioneer in developing early childhood education programmes and curricula. In Mumbai, the organisation caters for over 4000 children through approximately 19 centres, every year.

Mumbai Mobile Creches is seeking an experienced person who can efficiently manage and supervise financial operations at Mumbai Mobile Creches. As a key member of the Management team, the Finance Manager position will assume a strategic role in the overall management of MMC’s work and will provide leadership to the Finance function. This position will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, budgeting, implementing, and managing all finance related activities of MMC.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide strategic direction and be responsible for all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions of the organisation
  2. Lead the annual financial budgets and ensure programme success through cost analysis support and compliance to all programme requirements.
  3. Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organisation including: organisational revenue/expense, balance sheet reports, grant reporting, programme wise spends etc.
  4. Ensure adherence to all statutory compliances including filing of all returns as per guidelines of the statutory authorities and legal framework.
  5. Monitor organisational and grant budgets and ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organisation's needs.
  6. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with all key external stakeholders including auditors and finance consultants.

Required qualification, experience and skills:

  • CA / MBA Finance/ Cost Accounting
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in accounts and finance.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Fluency in English, Hindi and Marathi.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Tally and MS word.
